Spare Times: For Children
Concerts by Dan Zanes are always cause for celebration, but in this case the festivities have a larger theme: This ever-popular children’s rocker and his band will play as part of Fiesta de Flores, the annual tribute to Latin American culture at the New York Botanical Garden. In keeping with the theme, Mr. Zanes and his many friends — including the Villa-Lobos Brothers and Daphne Rubin-Vega — will play tunes from “¡Nueva York!,” their first Spanish-language album. At 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., Daffodil Hill, Bronx River Parkway (Exit 7W) and Fordham Road, Bedford Park, the Bronx, (718) 817-8700, nybg.org. Tickets, including admission to all garden sites: $30 ($27 for members); $20 for ages 2 to 12 ($18 for members); free for under 2.
